The seven-seat Prius, a petrol-electric hybrid people carrier sold new in the UK from 2012 to 2020
Quick answer
Yes. Every UK Prius+ has seven seats.
A seven-seat hybrid people carrier with an excellent reliability record, according to Honest John. The third row suits children and Euro NCAP never tested it.
The Toyota Prius Plus 7-seater, sold as the Prius+, was on sale new from 2012 to 2020, always with a petrol-electric hybrid system and a CVT automatic, so there is no manual or diesel to choose.
The boot holds about 200 litres with all seats up. It sits on older Prius underpinnings, and Honest John points out that newer hybrids are more efficient.
| Body | MPV |
|---|---|
| Seats | 7 |
| Seat layout | 2-3-2 |
| Boot, 7 seats up | 200 litres |
| Boot, maximum | 1,750 litres |
| Third row suits | Children |
| Isofix points | 2 (outer seats in row 2) |

|---|---|
| Width without mirrors | 1,775mm |
| Height | 1,575mm |
| Fuel, with seven seats | Hybrid |
| Gearbox | Automatic only |
With all seven seats in use the boot holds 200 litres, 46 litres less than the median for the 4 new MPVs, on sale or coming soon, with a published boot figure. The maximum load space is 1,750 litres.
How it is measured Honest John publishes a 200 to 768 litre range. Carwow describes just over 200 litres with all seven seats up, almost 800 litres with five, and 1,750 litres with both rear rows folded. No exact five-seat figure was confirmed.
At 4,615mm (4.62m, 15ft 2in) long, the Prius+ is 572mm shorter than the median new MPV. It is 1,775mm wide without mirrors and 1,575mm tall.
Third row suitsChildren
Honest John rates the third row as fine for children, but adults will not want long spells there. Sliding the middle seats forward frees more third-row legroom at the cost of middle-row space. Carwow also sees the back row as better for children than adults.
2Isofix points
The Prius+ has two Isofix points: outer seats in row 2.
First-time MOT pass rates for the Prius+, by the year each car was first registered, next to the average for all cars of the same age.

Yes, the Prius+ (also written Prius Plus), sold new in the UK from 2012 to 2020. Every UK car has seven seats. Toyota has said it has no plans for a larger version of the current Prius, Auto Express reports, so the Prius+ remains the only seven-seat Prius.
Honest John credits the Prius+ with an excellent reliability record. It also flags sat-nav software version 2.8.4al, which could give nonsense directions and was due a free upgrade, so check that has been done.
The Dacia Jogger Hybrid 155 is a new seven-seat people carrier with a self-charging full hybrid, and every UK Jogger has seven seats. With all seats up, Dacia quotes 212 litres of boot space and Auto Express 160, against about 200 for the Prius+, and carwow rates the Jogger's third row as good enough for adults.
