The Dacia Jogger 7-seater is unusual at this price: reviewers rate its third row for adults, and carwow's 6ft 2in tester fitted in the back.

The compromises are safety and luggage space. Euro NCAP gave the Jogger one star in 2021, and the boot is small with every seat in use: 212 litres by Dacia's headline figure, 160 on the VDA method. If budget leads your search, our list of cheap 7-seater cars shows how it stacks up.

With all seven seats in use the boot holds 212 litres, the 2nd smallest of the 4 MPVs with a published boot figure and 34 litres less than the median. With five seats in use the boot holds 699 litres, rising to a maximum of 2,085 litres.

Read the Jogger's boot figures with care. Dacia's headline numbers are 212 litres with all seven seats up and 699 with the third row folded, but its own VDA figures, the ones Auto Express quotes, are 160 and 565 litres. Use the VDA numbers when you compare it with rivals that publish VDA data.

The third row is where the flexibility lies. Each seat weighs about 10kg and lifts out separately, and with both removed Dacia quotes 820 litres, so it pays to leave them at home when you only need five seats.

How it is measured Dacia UK litre figures: 699 with the third row folded (820 with it removed) and 2,085 with the middle bench folded. Dacia's VDA figures are 160, 565 and 1,807 dm3, which match the 160 and 565 litres quoted by Auto Express.

Third row: who fits?

Third row suitsAdults

Carwow's 6ft 2in tester fitted in the back row, and the review rates the space as good enough for grown-ups. Auto Express finds getting in a little awkward despite the big rear doors and tip-forward middle seats, and taller occupants may run short of knee room. Each third-row seat weighs about 10kg and folds or lifts out on its own.

The third row is the Jogger's strongest suit. Carwow rates it as good enough for grown-ups, while small seven-seat SUVs such as the Citroen C3 Aircross and Vauxhall Frontera have extra seats that their own makers pitch at children.

Child seats are another matter. The two Isofix points are on the outer middle-row seats and the third row has none, so younger children in car seats ride in row two, leaving the back row for older children and adults.

DVSA recalls

The DVSA lists one recall for the Jogger:

  1. 6 February 2025 · Ref R/2025/001 · 474 vehicles

Rear stub axle carrier mounting bolts

On affected vehicles due to an insufficient tightening of the rear stub axle carrier mounting bolts at the factory the fatigue resistance of the bolt assembly is reduced.

Remedy: Replace the rear stub axle carrier mounting bolts and tightening them at the correct torque.

Dacia Jogger verdict: pros and cons

Our verdict The Jogger is the low-cost seven-seater that does not skimp on space: every version has seven seats and reviewers rate the third row for adults. Its one-star Euro NCAP rating from 2021 is the compromise you accept for the price.

Pros

  • Seven seats as standard on every version
  • Third row that carwow rates as fit for adults
  • Third-row seats lift out separately for more boot space

Cons

  • One-star Euro NCAP rating from 2021
  • Only 160 litres of boot with seven seats up on the VDA method
  • Petrol is manual only; the automatic hybrid costs more

Good to know

  • Euro NCAP gave the Jogger one star in 2021, relying mainly on Sandero Stepway test results, and noted that the third-row seats have no seatbelt reminders (Euro NCAP)
  • The Hybrid 155 is a self-charging full hybrid that pairs a 1.8-litre petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.4kWh battery (Dacia UK)
  • The cheapest hybrid is the Expression Hybrid 155 at £23,330, and the range tops out at £24,630 for the Extreme Hybrid 155 (Dacia UK)
  • Dacia's July 2026 brochure lists 1,200kg braked towing for both engines; Auto Express quotes 645kg (petrol) and 730kg (hybrid), the petrol figure matching Dacia's unbraked limit, and carwow gives 750kg for the hybrid (Dacia UK, Auto Express, carwow)
  • Auto Express lists the Jogger as 4,547mm long and 1,691mm tall and carwow gives 1,674mm tall, against Dacia's own 4,550mm and 1,673mm (Auto Express, carwow)

Practicality

Seven seats come as standard on every Jogger, so even the entry Essential is a full seven-seater rather than a five-seater with an option box to tick. With one third-row seat folded or removed, it works as a six-seater with extra load space beside the remaining seat.

The rear doors are conventional hinged doors, so parents who park in tight spaces may prefer one of the 7-seaters with sliding doors. The Jogger is 1,848mm wide without its mirrors and 2,012mm with them, a figure to check against a narrow garage.

Dacia Jogger FAQs

How big is the Dacia Jogger boot with all seven seats up?

212 litres with all seven seats in use, 699 litres with five seats in use and a maximum of 2,085 litres.

How long is the Dacia Jogger?

The Dacia Jogger is 4,550mm long (4.55m, 14ft 11in), 1,848mm wide without its mirrors and 1,673mm tall.

How many Isofix points does the Dacia Jogger have?

Two: outer seats in row 2. There are no Isofix points in the third row.

Can adults sit in the third row of the Dacia Jogger?

Yes. The third row is roomy enough for adults.

Is there a hybrid Dacia Jogger 7-seater?

Yes. With seven seats you can have hybrid versions.

Is there an automatic Dacia Jogger?

Yes. The Hybrid 155 is the automatic Jogger: a self-charging full hybrid that pairs a 1.8-litre petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.4kWh battery, so there is no plug. The TCe 110 petrol comes only with a manual gearbox.

Both have seven seats. The hybrid starts in Expression trim rather than the entry Essential, so the cheapest automatic costs more than the cheapest manual. Our list of automatic 7-seater cars shows the alternatives.

How much can a Dacia Jogger tow?

Dacia's July 2026 brochure lists 1,200kg of braked towing for both the TCe 110 and the Hybrid 155. Review sites print much lower figures: Auto Express quotes 645kg for the petrol and 730kg for the hybrid, and carwow gives 750kg for the hybrid.

Auto Express's petrol figure matches Dacia's unbraked limit, which suggests the sources are not all quoting the same measure. Confirm the limit for the exact car with the dealer before you rely on it for a caravan.

Is the Dacia Jogger safe?

Euro NCAP gave the Jogger one star in 2021. Its rating relied mainly on test results from the Sandero Stepway, and Euro NCAP noted that the third-row seats have no seatbelt reminders.

One star is a low score for a family car, so weigh it against the price saving. Five-star seven-seaters such as the MG MGS9 and Skoda Kodiaq cost more but scored far higher.
