Quick answer

Is the Citroen SpaceTourer a 7-seater?

Yes. Citroen UK says private buyers can choose 5, 7 or 8 seats and business versions take up to 9, but carwow lists the electric model only with 5, 6, 8 or 9 seats, so which UK version has exactly seven is not confirmed.

Before ordering a Citroen SpaceTourer 7-seater, ask the dealer to confirm the seat layout in writing, because the sources we checked disagree on which version has exactly seven.

Two powertrains are sold: the electric e-SpaceTourer, with a 75kWh battery and up to 216 miles of range, and a 2.0-litre diesel automatic added in 2025. Both come in M and longer XL bodies, at 4,983mm and 5,333mm, with sliding doors on both sides.

Citroen SpaceTourer boot space

5 seats up
2,381L

We have no verified boot figure with all seven seats in use yet. With five seats in use the boot holds 2,381 litres.

There is no official boot figure for a seven-seat SpaceTourer. Citroen UK quotes 1,250 to 2,280 litres behind eight or nine fixed seats, and 1,540 to 2,560 litres for versions with rail-mounted benches, depending on version. Carwow says five-seat versions have 2,381 litres with every seat occupied.

Citroen does not say how its figures were measured, so compare them with SUV figures with care. Even the smallest of them means a lot of luggage room with every seat in place.

How it is measured carwow says five-seat versions have 2,381 litres with every seat occupied; no figure was found for a seven or eight-seat version with its third row removed. Citroen UK quotes 1,250 to 2,280 litres behind 8 or 9 fixed seats and 1,540 to 2,560 litres with rail-mounted benches, depending on version; no seven-seat figure and no measurement basis are given.

Third row: who fits?

Rear passengers climb in through large sliding doors on both sides (carwow, Citroen UK). Depending on the version, the rear benches slide, fold or come out, and some versions mount them on rails (Citroen UK). The nine-seat layout is three rows of three (DrivingElectric).

The sources we checked do not rate third-row space in a seven-seat SpaceTourer. What they do describe is easy access: large sliding doors on both sides (carwow, Citroen UK) and, depending on the version, rear benches that slide, fold or come out, some mounted on rails (Citroen UK). The nine-seat layout is three rows of three (DrivingElectric).

Carwow lists three Isofix points on the rear seats, each with a top tether, without saying which rows they are in. If you need all nine seats, see our list of 9-seater cars.

Isofix and child seats

3Isofix points

The SpaceTourer has three Isofix points: rear seats, each with a top tether. That is enough for three Isofix child seats, though whether three fit side by side depends on the seats you choose.

Citroen SpaceTourer verdict: pros and cons

Our verdict The SpaceTourer is a van-based people carrier with sliding doors, up to nine seats and a huge load space even with every seat in place. A seven-seat version is listed by Citroen UK but not by carwow, and we found no Euro NCAP rating.

Pros

  • Up to nine seats, with sliding doors on both sides
  • Citroen quotes 1,250 litres or more behind eight or nine seats
  • Electric version rated at up to 216 miles (M body)

Cons

  • Exact seven-seat version not confirmed
  • No Euro NCAP rating found
  • 4,983mm long as an M and 5,333mm as an XL

Good to know

  • Auto Express reported in August 2025 that Citroen had added a 178bhp 2.0-litre diesel automatic to the UK SpaceTourer range, in Plus and Max trims, alongside the electric version (Auto Express)
  • The diesel starts at £42,275 OTR for the M Plus, with the XL Plus at £43,175 and the M Max at £47,510 (Citroen UK)
  • The 75kWh electric version is rated at up to 216 miles for the M body, and Citroen's configurator shows up to 212 miles for the XL (Citroen UK)
  • Two body lengths are sold: the M at 4,983mm and the longer version at 5,333mm (Citroen UK)
  • carwow lists the top electric Max trim only as an eight-seater, at £48,130 for the M and £49,030 for the XL (carwow)

Practicality

The M body is 4,983mm long and 1,890mm tall, and the XL stretches to 5,333mm, so check garage length and car park height limits before you buy. We found no width figures in the sources we checked.

The electric version is rated at up to 216 miles in M form and up to 212 miles as an XL (Citroen UK). We found no towing figure and no Euro NCAP rating. For other people carriers with this kind of access, see our list of 7-seaters with sliding doors.
