A Citroen 7-seater can be a compact SUV or a van-based people carrier. The C3 Aircross offers seven seats as an option on its petrol and mild hybrid versions, the long Berlingo XL has seven seats with diesel or electric power, and the bigger SpaceTourer is sold with up to nine.
They are very different to live with. With all seven seats up the C3 Aircross leaves 40 litres of boot space and Citroen pitches its third row at children, while carwow quotes 209 litres for the Berlingo XL, which also has three Isofix points across the middle row and sliding rear doors. The Grand C4 Picasso, renamed Grand C4 SpaceTourer in 2018, is a used seven-seat MPV.

Choose the C3 Aircross if a compact car matters more than space. At 4,395mm long it is easier to park than the people carriers, but its third row has no Isofix points and Auto Express found an average-height adult's knees only just clear the seat in front. Think of it as a five-seater with two occasional seats for children. The electric e-C3 Aircross is five-seat only.
The Berlingo XL is the practical choice: 4,753mm long, with sliding rear doors, three Isofix points across the middle row and a third row that Auto Express rates fine for people of average height or shorter. Both rearmost seats can be taken out. The electric e-Berlingo XL has the same body and the same boot figures with seven and five seats in use.
The SpaceTourer is a full-size people carrier in two lengths, 4,983mm and 5,333mm, with electric or 2.0-litre diesel power. Citroen UK says private buyers can choose five, seven or eight seats, but carwow lists the electric model only with five, six, eight or nine, so confirm the exact layout before you order.
No longer sold new, but easy to find secondhand.

The Citroen C3 Aircross, from £24,460.
The Citroen Berlingo XL and the Citroen e-Berlingo XL, with 209 litres each with all seven seats in use.
Yes. The C3 Aircross SUV can be ordered with seven seats, the Berlingo XL and e-Berlingo XL people carriers have seven, and the SpaceTourer takes up to nine. The Grand C4 Picasso and Grand C4 SpaceTourer, sold new until 2022, are used Citroen seven-seaters.
Yes. Citroen quotes a 54kWh battery for the e-Berlingo XL, and Auto Express gives the XL 206 miles of WLTP range. The electric e-SpaceTourer takes up to nine people and is rated at up to 216 miles in its shorter M body. The e-C3 Aircross, by contrast, is a five-seater. Compare them with other electric 7-seaters.
Yes, in the Berlingo XL and e-Berlingo XL, which have Isofix on all three middle-row seats, and in the SpaceTourer, which has three Isofix points with top tethers in the rear. The C3 Aircross has only two, on the outer middle-row seats. Sliding doors on the Berlingo and SpaceTourer also help in tight parking spaces: see every 7-seater with sliding doors.
