Van-based MPV · seven or nine seats
The Hyundai Santa Fe suits most families. Every version has seven seats, and Hyundai UK rates the hybrid to tow 2,000kg and the plug-in hybrid 1,700kg, although Auto Express quotes 1,110kg for every version. Hyundai publishes no boot figure with all seven seats up; with the third row folded the hybrid has 628 litres. Euro NCAP awarded four stars as standard and five with the optional safety pack, which Auto Express says is standard from Ultimate trim upwards.
The Ioniq 9 is the roomier car. carwow says third-row passengers get as much space as those in the middle row, there is a front boot as well, and its 110.3kWh battery gives up to 385 miles of range. All-wheel-drive versions can tow 2,500kg, but the rear-wheel-drive Premium is limited to 1,600kg.
The Staria Electric is a van-based MPV with sliding doors on both sides and 435 litres behind the third row of the seven-seat Luxury. Electrifying suggests keeping its three-seat rear bench for children. No UK price had been announced by October 2026.

Yes, the Ioniq 9, with a 110.3kWh battery and up to 385 miles of range. The Staria Electric people carrier, with an 84kWh battery and a provisional range of up to 248 miles, is due to follow. Compare both with other electric 7-seaters.
The Ioniq 9. carwow says back-row passengers get as much space as those in the middle row, and Auto Express finds knee room only a little tighter than in row two. In the Santa Fe, carwow found an adult can sit fairly comfortably once the middle row slides forward, though the low seat base leaves knees raised on longer trips.
