Seven seats as standard, an adult-sized third row and up to 349 miles of range, but weak towing on the Air
Quick answer
Yes. Seven seats are standard on every UK EV9 (Air, GT-Line, GT-Line S and GT), and the GT-Line S (with swivelling second-row chairs) and the GT can instead be ordered as six-seaters.
Best for Electric family driving with adults in the third row
The Kia EV9 7-seater is fully electric, with up to 349 miles of WLTP range from the single-motor Air, and reviewers rate its third row for adults.
The catch is towing on that entry Air, which is rated for only 900kg braked against 2,500kg for the dual-motor versions. For other battery-powered choices, see our list of electric 7-seaters.

Kia does not say whether its figures are VDA or measured to the roof, so treat comparisons with other makers' numbers with some care.
How it is measured Kia UK figures behind the third, second and first rows with seats upright; the six-seat AWD car has 2,393 litres maximum. There is also a front boot of 90 litres (RWD) or 52 litres (AWD). Kia does not state VDA or roof-height basis.

Third row suitsAdults
Carwow fitted three six-foot adults one behind the other in both the six- and seven-seat versions. Honest John found enough headroom for adults to sit upright and enough legroom to make the back seats genuinely useful. Auto Express likes the buttons that tilt and slide the second-row seats forward for access to the back.
The EV9's third row works for adults. Auto Express likes the buttons that tilt and slide the second-row seats forward for access.
Kia lists Isofix on the outer middle-row seats and in the third row, but the sources we checked do not give a total count. Compare rivals in 7-seaters with the most third-row space.
Isofix points: outer seats in row 2 and the third row.

Kia Cluster Malfunction Recall
The instrument cluster screen may respond slowly immediately after starting the vehicle. During this condition activating the turn signal can cause the cluster to reset or the Blind View Monitor (BVM) within the cluster to turn green. The malfunction is caused by PMIC noise induced falsely high temperature sensor readings which trigger the chip protection logic above a certain threshold and lead to performance limitation up to reboot or black screen.

Our verdict The EV9 is a full-size electric SUV with seven seats as standard, a third row that fits six-foot adults and up to 349 miles of range. If you tow, choose a dual-motor version, as the entry Air is limited to 900kg braked.
Kia EV9 dimensions are 5,010mm long, 1,980mm wide without mirrors and 1,755mm tall on a 3,100mm wheelbase, according to Auto Express and Honest John; carwow lists 5,015mm and 1,780mm. That is a lot of car to park, so try it in your own space first.
Kia quotes a 10 to 80% rapid charge in 24 minutes for the 99.8kWh battery. Range depends on version and wheels: 349 miles for the Air, 316 miles for the GT-Line on 20in wheels and 313 miles for the GT-Line S on 21in wheels.
