Renault · 7-seater check
Short answer
No, Renault does not sell a seven-seat car in the UK: its cars have five seats, and the Trafic Passenger minibus seats up to nine. Used Grand Scenic and Espace models have seven seats, and Renault Group's Dacia Jogger is the closest new alternative.
Renault UK lists its cars, from the Clio to the Rafale, with five seats, so a Renault 7-seater means a used car. Two are covered on our used pages: the Grand Scenic, sold new in the UK from 2004 to 2020, and the Espace, sold until 2012.
For a new car, the Dacia Jogger, from Renault Group's Dacia brand, has seven seats as standard.
Every car on Renault UK's range page, including the electric Scenic and the Austral and Rafale hybrids, is listed with five seats. The Scenic name lives on, but today's Scenic is an electric five-seater, and there is no seven-seat Grand Scenic version.
The one Renault passenger model with more than five seats is the Trafic Passenger, a van-based minibus that Renault UK lists in nine-seat versions with diesel engines. At over five metres long, it is a much bigger vehicle than the 4,634mm Grand Scenic.
The Renault Grand Scenic was sold new from 2004 to 2020 across three generations. Every UK Grand Scenic IV has seven seats, though Honest John and Auto Express see the third row as mainly for children, and Auto Express and Parkers quote 233 litres of boot space with all seven seats up. Sources disagree on the end date: Honest John says Renault withdrew it from the UK in summer 2020, while other records give 2019.
The Renault Espace left the UK market in 2012. The last one sold here, the Espace IV, has seven seats, with five individual rear seats that lift out, although Auto Express found them heavy and awkward to remove, and they do not fold into the floor. The fifth-generation Espace from 2015 was never sold in the UK, and the current Espace is not in Renault UK's range.
Dacia is one of Renault Group's brands, alongside Renault and Alpine, and its Jogger is a seven-seat MPV sold new in the UK. Every Jogger has seven seats as standard, carwow's 6ft 2in tester fitted in the third row, and the Hybrid 155 is a self-charging full hybrid. Dacia quotes 212 litres of boot space with all seven seats up.
The catch is safety. Euro NCAP gave the Jogger one star in 2021, relying mainly on results from the Sandero Stepway, and noted that the third-row seats have no seatbelt reminders. If a high crash-test score matters to you, compare it with the other alternatives below.

No. The seven-seat Grand Scenic is no longer sold new in the UK, and Honest John says Renault took it off the market in summer 2020. Today's Renault Scenic is an electric five-seater. Our used Renault Grand Scenic page covers what to check.
The Espace IV, sold in the UK until 2012, has seven seats, with five individual rear seats that lift out. Honest John quotes 291 litres of boot space with every seat in place. The fifth-generation Espace was never sold here, and the current one is not in Renault UK's range, so our used Renault Espace page covers the Espace IV.
Dacia is part of Renault Group, along with Renault and Alpine. Every UK Dacia Jogger has seven seats as standard, with a petrol engine or a full hybrid.
