Small outside usually means small inside. The C3 Aircross keeps just 40 litres of boot space with every seat up, Vauxhall publishes no figure for the Frontera, and both have third rows meant for children. What a small 7-seater gives up
- Third-row space. Auto Express reports that Citroen pitches the C3 Aircross's extra seats at occasional use by children, carwow says even Vauxhall accepts the Frontera's suit children, and carwow rates the Discovery Sport's as suitable only for children. The Dacia Jogger is the exception: carwow's 6ft 2in tester fitted.
- Boot space with all seven seats up. The C3 Aircross has 40 litres and the Discovery Sport 115, against 212 in the Jogger. Vauxhall gives no figure for the Frontera.
- Child seats in the back. Neither the C3 Aircross nor the Frontera has Isofix in the third row, and Auto Express says child seats cannot be fitted in the Frontera's at all.
- Safety ratings. Euro NCAP had not rated the Frontera or the current C3 Aircross when reviewers covered them, and the Jogger has one star. The Discovery Sport kept five stars when retested in 2022.
